In Volos, the Red Special Team, led by Mr. Nikos Boudouris, offers children with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum the opportunity to experience basketball in a structured, safe, and supportive environment.
The retired international basketball player from Volos spoke to “Magnesiasports,” emphasizing that the team operates with deep respect for each child’s individual needs. He noted that the Red Special Team is a personal initiative based entirely on volunteer work, without state support.
Recognizing the significance of this effort, Hellenic Halyvourgia S.A. has actively supported the Red Special Team, recently providing sports equipment to help further the initiative.
“Such acts give us the strength to continue, so these children can find a true outlet for joy,” said Mr. Boudouris.
